RECIPES FOR PUPPIES
Take me straight to: Ingredients | Serving Suggestions
Every pet deserves real food– whole, high-quality food that we believe helps all pets thrive.
What goes into recipes is every bit as important as what’s left out so, using nothing but whole foods, Dr. Bessent formulated limited-ingredient recipes. Then, using some rather cutting-edge spaceman technology, she freeze-dried them so that every benefit of raw, whole food was available for your pet.
It’s real, whole food nutrition without compromising convenience and that really makes the decision around how and what to feed your growing dog simple.
It’s simple. it’s food as food should be.
It can be challenging to compare pet foods, especially with so many different product offerings on the market.
To help with that, we kept it simple—just 19 or less honest-to-raw ingredients in each recipe.
What goes into recipes is every bit as important as what’s left out. The big difference in our food (versus others on the shelf) is that we’re made entirely of fresh, whole foods. So you won’t find rendered meals, fillers like soy, wheat, or grain, synthetic vitamins, or minerals that make up other pet “food” in our recipes. Just real, whole food sourced in the US, freeze-dried raw to keep all the benefits food has to offer.
Feeding Directions
Raw food requires safe-handling. Be sure to wash hands, bowls, surfaces, & utensils before and after feeding. Keep food sealed until ready to use & serve in a stainless steel bowl. Keep away from children & the elderly, and separate from other foods.
Feed according to the chart below, adjusting to your own dog’s needs. We suggest dividing up the serving suggestion into two meals, feeding in both the morning and evening. Add warm water or a broth, or serve dry. Refrigerate or discard leftovers after rehydrating.

Start by using the daily feeding guide below and adjust to your own puppy’s needs.
If your pup is 4 months or younger, we’d suggest allowing your puppy to graze throughout the day. You can also break up their feeding schedule by putting food out four or more times a day.
Once they’re 4-months-old, you can start dividing their food into two portions, feeding in the AM & PM.
* # of tsp Puppy Balancer pair with that specific amount of food only. If you change the amount you’re feeding, follow the below*
For every 1/3 cup of Simple Food added to their bowl, add 1 tsp Puppy Balancer.
The Single Protein Duck Recipe is formulated to meet the nutritional needs of all life stages and does not require Puppy Balancer.
9 ⅔ cups
Per your dog’s tastes, rehydrate by adding +/- ¾ cup warm water or bone broth for every cup of food, wait two minutes, mix, & serve. Simple Food can also be fed dry, but always provide clean drinking water on the side.
Using whole foods makes each batch unique. As a freeze-dried, whole food product, it's entirely normal to see differing amounts of crumbs in every bag. Sprinkle those nutrient-dense crumbs over their meal, add warm water to make a broth, or freeze the broth to make a pupsicle.

The small dog nuggets are comprised of just freeze-dried nuggets.
The freeze-drying process involves advanced technology that preserves nutritional integrity, flavor, and texture exceptionally well. This method requires specialized equipment, more energy, and longer processing time, which contributes to the higher cost. Both freeze-drying and air-drying are excellent preservation methods, but freeze-drying’s intricate process and the premium quality of the final product drive its higher price point.
Small Dog Nuggets feature just 1 smaller freeze-dried nugget perfect for the XXS dogs and the seniors of the world. The nugget is a combination of all ingredients in the recipe.
The Original 5 feature our signature blend of nuggets – freeze-dried and air-dried nuggets that include every ingredient, freeze-dried organ meats, freeze-dried veggies, and fruits. Every piece is tailored to the wants and needs of your carnivore.
With our Original 5 and Small Dog nuggets, it just gets simpler to feed real, whole foods.
Currently, the small dog nuggets only come in 24 oz bags.
