It Starts With the Ingredients

Before it ever becomes a nugget, it has to be the right food. And we don’t just mean “beef” or “duck.” We mean fish and meat responsibly sourced from trusted suppliers. Produce that’s grown organically without many of the synthetic pesticides used in conventional farming.

Because what goes into your dog’s bowl doesn’t just impact today’s mealtime—it shapes long-term health. And when you feed real food, sourcing becomes step one. Every ingredient is chosen with intention, not convenience. That’s why you’ll never find by-product meals or fillers in our bowls.

We Source Locally—When It’s Right. Globally—When It’s Better.

When a better, more sustainable source exists across the globe, we go there—like wild-caught krill from Norway or pasture-raised lamb from New Zealand. Not because it’s trendy, but because it’s right for the recipe and for your four-legger.

Closer to home, our pasture-raised beef and duck are sourced from inspected, high-quality suppliers we know and trust. Often that means Wisconsin beef or Indiana duck, but we intentionally rotate among a small group of partners to prioritize ingredient integrity.

This flexibility allows us to support responsible farming practices and maintain consistent quality—even as seasonality, climate, and availability shift

  • Grass-fed beef

  • Krill from a sustainable Norwegian fishery

  • Organic blueberries

  • Wild-caught salmon

Why These Ingredients? Because They Matter.

We don’t pick ingredients because they sound good on a label. We choose them because they serve a purpose—in the bowl and beyond it.

Take our beef, for example. We source pasture-raised cattle not because it’s easy (it isn’t always), but because it aligns better with a carnivore-focused approach to nutrition. Compared to grain-fed alternatives, grass-fed beef naturally contains a more balanced fatty acid profile, including higher levels of Omega-3s relative to Omega-6s.

That balance matters. Dogs and cats rely on dietary sources of essential fatty acids, and the proportion in which those fats appear can influence how the body uses them.

It’s not just about including Omega-3s—it’s about the ratio.

Many highly processed pet foods are disproportionately heavy in Omega-6 fatty acids, which can overwhelm the balance. Our recipes are formulated to feature an exceptional Omega-3 to Omega-6 ratio of 1:2—a profile that helps support skin integrity, joint function, and immune health.

To achieve that balance, we pair pasture-raised proteins with wild-caught krill—an eco-conscious source of highly bioavailable Omega-3s. Krill allows us to enhance fatty acid diversity while prioritizing responsible harvesting and long-term ocean health.

We also focus on whole-animal sourcing wherever possible. Ingredients like duck or turkey necks provide naturally occurring calcium and protein, while honoring more of the animal and reducing unnecessary waste.

Every inclusion—every meat, organ, berry, and bone—is chosen with intention, guided by biology, sustainability, and thoughtful formulation.

Whole Food Nutrients, Not Synthetic Add-Ins

We didn’t just skip synthetic vitamins—we replaced them. With real food.

Because nutrition doesn’t come from a lab. It comes from food your dog or cat’s body can actually recognize and use.

Take pumpkin. We use it for fiber—to help support digestion the natural way. Blueberries? They’re not tossed in to hit a buzzword. They bring antioxidant power that fights oxidative stress. Spinach offers bioavailable iron and folate. And each of these—along with ingredients like kelp, carrots, and krill—plays a role in nourishing the body, not just filling out the bowl.

We didn’t build our recipes to sound good on a label. We built them to be good in the body.

That’s why you won’t find “vitamin premix” or “nutrient blend” on our packaging. You’ll find whole foods chosen with purpose—because raw nutrition works best when it comes from real ingredients, not synthetic substitutes.

Ours just happen to be freeze-dried to make daily feeding 1,000% easier.

Choosing whole foods over synthetics doesn’t just help your pet absorb nutrients better—it also keeps lab-manufactured additives out of the food chain.

And by choosing organic when we can, we’re protecting soil health, water systems, and pollinators. Not just pets.

Organic Where It Matters Most. Always With Intention.

We use organic produce in our recipes—not as a marketing ploy, but because it reduces chemical runoff, supports soil health, and keeps pesticides out of your pet’s bowl.

You’ll find organic carrots, spinach, cranberries, turmeric, ginger, blueberries, cinnamon, green beans, green peas, and apples in our ingredient lists. Those aren’t one-offs. They’re our go-to ingredients, every time they’re available.

But organic doesn’t have to mean perfect.

We say yes to imperfect produce that would otherwise be tossed, and we don’t panic if a harvest shifts. We adapt with intention—always opting for fresh, vibrant, whole foods that do good in the bowl and on the planet.

We're not chasing labels.

We're chasing better food, fewer inputs, and practices that give back to the soil, not strip it.

Sourcing with Intention = Feeding with Purpose

Ever wonder why we choose cooling proteins like duck or lamb? Or why you’ll never find sugar-laden fruit in our cat recipes? It’s all rooted in food energetics—a practice used in holistic medicine to help bring the body back into balance.

Whether your four-legger runs hot or sluggish, these choices matter. It’s not just about what we source, but why we use it.

Feeding Tip: Got an itchy, restless dog? Cooling proteins like duck and whitefish can help ease that internal heat.

How We Source Responsibly

✅ Vendor Pre-Qualification (BRC or SQF certified)

✅ Certificate of Analysis (COA) required per shipment

✅ COA includes tests for microbes, pesticides, heavy metals

✅ Random third-party testing for trust-but-verify

✅ Ingredient rotation to reduce overdependence & support sustainability

No Room for Compromise

We don’t co-pack. We don’t outsource recipes. And we don’t cut corners with cost-saving filler.

Every one of our recipes is built with intention.

Our vet created every recipe herself—and still oversees every batch.

That’s why we hold ourselves to human-grade standards, whether or not it earns us a marketing badge. We source like it matters—because it does. And we make the food in our own Wisconsin facility, because trust can’t be delegated.

✅ Whole-animal meats

✅ Organic produce

✅ Small-batch in Wisconsin

✅ Recyclable boxes made in a zero-waste facility

✅ BPA-free, resealable pouches

✅ Member of APPA and WPA

When we say "you are what you eat," we mean your four-legger too.
