Samples for Cats
Our sample packs are a taste test—small boxes, big flavor.
Each one includes 1 oz of freeze-dried raw food, made with USDA-inspected meats and organic produce. No synthetics. No fillers. No rendered meals. Just real, whole food your four-legger can try before you commit to the bowl.
Note: Sample packs aren’t full meals—they’re just enough to get whiskers twitching.

About the Project
Every pet deserves real food– whole, high-quality food that we believe helps all pets thrive.
What goes into recipes is every bit as important as what’s left out so, using nothing but whole foods, Dr. Bessent formulated limited-ingredient recipes. Then, using some rather cutting-edge spaceman technology, she freeze-dried them so that every benefit of raw, whole food was available for your pet.
It’s real, whole food nutrition without compromising convenience, and that really makes the decision around how and what to feed your four-legger simple.
Don't Just Take It From Us
FAQs
Do I add water?
Freeze-dried food is exactly as it sounds– dry. We recommend adding warm-to-hot water or broth because moisture is crucial in your four-legger’s diet. If your dog prefers it dry, just make sure to provide fresh, clean water on the side. With The Simple Food Project recipes, we’d suggest rehydrating by adding +/- ¾ cup warm water or bone broth for every cup of food. But your dog can take the lead. For the feline freeze-dried raw eaters, we strongly recommend always adding hot to warm water. If they miss the crunch, prepare it how this whiskered workmate prefers it– soak for two minutes, then sprinkle with a few crunchies on top
Why crumbs and what do I do with them?
Using whole foods makes each batch unique. As a freeze-dried, whole food product, it's entirely normal to see differing amounts of crumbs in every bag. Sprinkle those nutrient-dense crumbs over their meal, add warm water to make a broth, or freeze the broth to make a pupsicle.
How long does Simple Food stay fresh?
The Simple Food Project recipes are examples of the best-preserved foods since they last at least three years before opening, thanks to a combination of mixed tocopherols and packaging. It’s so effective that, if stored properly, opened packages can last up to 6 months.
How do I switch to this food?
Your four-legger will benefit most by making the switch to any new food slowly– raw included. With each meal, you’ll add more of their new food, gradually transitioning over 5-7 days. To start, mix a few nuggets in with your pet’s current food. Then slowly increase the portion of freeze-dried food and decrease the other food– 25% to 75% new to old, then 50-50, 75-25 till you’ve made the switch completely. Simple as that. For the most refined palettes or sensitive stomachs, slow and steady does it. It may take over a 2-3 week period, starting with just one crumbled nugget at the bottom of the bowl. You can also add warm water or broth, soak, and then sprinkle a few crunchies on top (this is a whiskered workmate’s favorite). It may take some time for cats, but vets like Dr. Lisa Pierson have worked with and successfully transitioned some of the most difficult carb-aholic kitties over the course of months. The key is not giving in or giving up because the benefits of real, whole foods are well worth the effort.
